Kevin Jones scored a career-high 29 points and set a school offensive rebounding record Thursday as West Virginia slammed Alcorn State 97-62.
Jones, whose previous high-point total, 25, came against Louisville last March, finished shooting 13 of 21 from the field and crashing the boards for a game-high 13 rebounds before exiting the game with about eight minutes to go.
His offensive board with 16 minutes left in the first half set the record, surpassing Chris Brooks' previous mark of 320. Jones has 331 as his senior year continues for West Virginia (2-1).
Jones was backed by teammates Darryl Bryant (18), Kevin Noreen (12) Deniz Kilicli and Jabarie Hinds (10 apiece).
Chris Brand and Marquiz Baker each had 12 points for Alcorn State (0-1).
