OXFORD, Ohio (AP) Michael Weathers scored a career-high 26 points and Miami (Ohio) held off Austin Peay's second-half rally for a 76-70 win Saturday.

Jake Wright added 14 points, including four 3-pointers, and Rod Mills Jr. had 12 points for Miami (2-2), which led by double figures much of the game but had to scramble to keep the advantage late in the second half. Weathers also had nine rebounds and five assists.

Austin Peay (2-2) used a 13-6 surge capped by Chris Porter-Bunton's layup midway through the second half to trim the gap to single digits, 51-43, and continued to steadily chip away. Jared Savage's 3-pointer with 2:19 left cut it to 70-69 before Weathers put it out of reach with a 3-point play at the other end and the RedHawks sealed it from the free throw line down the stretch.

Savage led Austin Peay with 20 points, including five 3-pointers.
