Jonathon Williams led five Wagner players in double figures with 28 points and the Seahawks defeated North Carolina Central 87-83 on Wednesday night.
Tyler Murray added 20 points, on 7-of-10 shooting, including 4 of 5 from 3-point range, Latif Rivers chipped in 14 points, Kenneth Ortiz 11 and Chris Martin 10 for Wagner.
The two teams were close in shooting percentage as Wagner made 50.9 percent of its shots from the field (28 of 55), and North Carolina Central 47.2 percent (26 of 55), but the Seahawks did most of their damage from beyond the arc.
Wagner made 10 of 21 from long range (47.6 percent), including three by Williams. The Seahawks also outrebounded the Eagles 32-29 with Ortiz grabbing 11.
North Carolina Central (1-2) was led by Dominique Sutton with 29 points and 11 rebounds. Ray Willis added 21 points and Landon Clement 11 for the Eagles.
