Nate Hutcheson scored 24 points, leading four Western Michigan players in double figures, and the Broncos raced to an 85-71 victory over Duquesne on Saturday.

Brandon Pokley had 16 points - making 4 of 5 3-point tries - while Demetrius Ward scored 15 and Mike Douglas had 13 points, seven rebounds and five assists for Western Michigan (2-7). The Broncos led 44-29 and by as many as 20 points in the second half.

Mike Talley led the Dukes (6-4) with 16 points. Duquesne also got 15 points from Sean Johnson and 13 from B.J. Monteiro.

Western Michigan owned a 37-23 rebounding advantage. It was the first meeting between the schools.
