Vermont handles Bryant 73-47

BURLINGTON, Vt. (AP) Dre Wills scored 14 points and grabbed nine rebounds to lead Vermont to a 73-47 win over Bryant on Wednesday night.

Vermont outscored Bryant by 20 points in the first half, 34-14, as the Catamounts held the Bulldogs to four field goals and four free throws.

Hector Harold and Ethan O'Day added 12 apiece for Vermont (3-2). O'Day led the defense with four blocks and the Catamounts outrebounded Bryant 39-25.

Vermont made 23 of 39 shots (59 percent) and went to the line 36 times compared to just 15 for Bryant.

Dyami Starks led Bryant (1-2) with 13 points and Shane McLaughlin had 11. The Bulldogs made just 16 of 55 field-goal attempts (29 percent).

Bryant didn't make its first field goal of the second half until there was 13:10 remaining and trailed 46-18.
