Valparaiso hammers Purdue-North Central 98-44

Ryan Broekhoff had 18 points, leading seven Valparaiso players in double figures, as the Crusaders crushed Purdue-North Central 98-44 Thursday night.

Broekhoff also had a game-high nine rebounds as the Crusaders completely dominated the boards, 51-13, against the NAIA school.

Kevin Van Wijk had 17 points and seven rebounds for Valparaiso (2-1), which was coming off a 79-44 loss to No. 7 Kansas on Monday. Brandon Wood had 16 points, Michael Rogers had 12, Jay Harris and Matt Kenney 11 each and Howard Little had 10.

Valparaiso never trailed in the game and made 68 percent of its shots from outside. The Crusaders outscored the Panthers 56-10 in the paint.

Matt Demler led Purdue-North Central with 12 points.
