Howard Little scored 17 points to help Valparaiso hang on against Wright State 58-56 on Saturday.
The Crusaders (19-7, 11-3 Horizon) led by as many as 13 points midway through the second half.
The Raiders (17-11, 10-6) chipped away at the lead and pulled within 57-56 on two free throws by Vaughn Duggins with about a minute left.
Duggins had the ball again with 10 seconds remaining but was called for double dribbling, giving it back to Valparaiso.
The Crusaders' Ryan Broekhoff was quickly fouled and made the first of two free-throw tries.
The Raiders grabbed the rebound off Broekhoff's missed second try, but it was too late.
Duggins finished with a game-high 21 points for Wright State while N'Gai Evans added 14 and Cole Darling 10.
Cory Johnson and Brandon Wood each scored 10 for Valparaiso.
