Upshaw helps Middle Tennessee beat FAU 85-73
MURFREESBORO, Tenn. (AP) Reggie Upshaw had 19 points with eight rebounds in leading Middle Tennessee to an 85-73 victory over Florida Atlantic on Thursday night.
Upshaw was 7 of 15 from the field, including three 3-pointers. Jaqawn Raymond scored 15 points and Perrin Buford 14 for the Blue Raiders (16-6, 8-2 Conference USA), who were 9 of 16 from behind the arc and remained a game back of conference leader UAB.
Ronald Delph scored a career-high 18 points and grabbed 10 rebounds, and Marquan Botley had 4 of 5 3-pointers for 14 points for the Owls (6-17, 4-6), who were 7 of 17 from 3-point range but committed 15 turnovers.
Middle Tennessee led 45-32 at halftime. The Owls were within nine with 4:25 left in the game on a Botley 3-pointer. But from there, the Blue Raiders connected on 8 of 8 from the line and kept FAU at bay.
