Drew Parker scored 15 points and Trevis Simpson had 14 in UNC Greensboro's dominant 84-54 victory over The Citadel in the Southern Conference opener for both teams Saturday night.

Nicholas Paulos scored 11 points for the Spartans (2-5).

Mike Groselle led the Bulldogs (3-3) with 20 points, and Ashton Moore had 11.

UNC Greensboro shot 58.9 percent (33 of 56) from the field, 52.4 percent (11 of 21) on 3-pointers. The Citadel shot 30.9 percent (17 of 55) from the field.

The Spartans blew the game open in the first half. They opened on a 14-5 run, with Trey Simpson scoring seven points. They pushed it to 23-8 on Paulos' 3-pointer and 33-12 on Derrell Armstrong's layup with 7:06 remaining.

Drew Parker's 3-pointer made it 36-14 with 5:33 left, and UNC Greensboro cruised to a 46-21 lead at the break against its North Division foe.
