UMKC routs Div-II William Jewell 84-44

KANSAS CITY, Mo. (AP) Martez Harrison scored 16 points and added five steals to lead UMKC in an 84-44 victory over Division-II William Jewell on Saturday night.

The Kangaroos held a 51-25 lead at the half, and despite only making one field goal in the first 8 minutes after the break, held a 27-point lead midway through the second half. UMKC combined for 22 steals, snapping the previous school record of 18. The Kangaroos forced the Cardinals to turn the ball over 33 times.

Broderick Newbill added 13 points on 6-of-10 shooting, and Frank Williams Jr. chipped in 10 points for the Kangaroos (3-4).

DVante Mosby was the only Cardinal to score in double figures, finishing with 10 points and eight rebounds.

11 different UMKC players scored in the game, and nine finished with at least one steal.
