Jay Couisnard scored 17 points and Spencer Johnson grabbed 13 rebounds to lead UMKC over Centenary 71-67 on Thursday night, extending the nation's longest losing streak to 23.

The Kangaroos (10-7, 3-3 Summit League) led 36-30 at halftime and by as many as 16, 58-42, with 12:22 remaining in the game.

Bakari Lewis added 13 points for UMKC, which outrebounded the Gentlemen 40-32 and forced 21 turnovers.

Centenary (0-18, 0-7) shot 54.2 percent in the second half (13 of 24) and posted an 18-10 scoring edge in the paint, but it wasn't enough as the Kangaroos led throughout.

Maxx Nakwaasah scored 24 points and pulled down 12 rebounds to lead the Gentlemen, who shot 58.8 percent from the free-throw line (20 for 34).

Centenary's 23-game losing streak dates to last season and is the longest active streak in Division I men's basketball.
