ULM gets 26 from Coppola, beats Texas State 72-59

MONROE, La. (AP) Nick Coppola scored a career-high 26 points and Louisiana-Monroe defeated Texas State 72-59 on Saturday.

Coppola made 11 of 17 shots for the Warhawks (10-11, 6-4 Sun Belt), who won their fourth straight game and are 9-0 at home. Majok Deng added 15 points and 10 rebounds for his 13th career double-double and Travis Munnings 12 points. ULM shot 51 percent, including 7 of 16 from 3-point range.

Kavin Gilder-Tilbury scored 14 points for the Bobcats (9-9, 3-6) with Cameron Naylor adding 12 and Emani Gant 10 points, eight rebounds and six assists. The Bobcats were only 4 of 16 from the arc.

The Warhawks never trailed but didn't have its first double-digit lead until a 7-0 run put them ahead 51-41 with under 14 minutes left.

Ojai Black scored five points to get the Bobcats within seven with 3:15 remaining but were then scoreless, missing their last five shots.
