STORRS, Conn. (AP) UConn and Georgetown have agreed to renew their basketball rivalry, which ended with the split of the old Big East conference.
The schools announced Friday they would play a home-and-home series beginning next season.
Georgetown is scheduled to visit the XL Center in Hartford on Jan. 23, 2016, with the Huskies traveling to the Verizon Center on Jan. 21, 2017.
The schools, which have each won a record seven Big East tournament titles, have met 64 times since 1958. The Hoyas hold a 35-29 lead in the rivalry, but they have not played since Georgetown beat UConn 79-78 in double overtime in Storrs in February 2013.
UConn now plays in the American Athletic Conference.
