James Nunnally scored a game-high 14 points as UC Santa Barbara held on for a 49-43 win over Cal Poly-San Luis Obispo on Saturday night.
The Gauchos (15-13, 8-8 Big West) never trailed but faced their biggest challenge early in the second half when the Mustangs (15-14, 10-6) tied it at 27.
Santa Barbara inched ahead again after that but never led by more than eight points.
David Hanson led the Mustangs with 12 points while Will Donahue snagged a game-high 10 rebounds.

Jaime Serna chipped in with 12 points for the Gauchos.
