RIVERSIDE, Calif. (AP) Jaylen Bland scored 20 points, hitting 5 of 5 from long range, to lead UC Riverside past Saint Katherine in a 102-49 win Sunday.
Robert Boezeman contributed 16 points and hauled in eight rebounds, while Charles Standifer added 14 points for UC Riverside (2-2), which shot 59.3 percent from the floor and was 10 of 16 from beyond the arc. The Highlanders took control early with a 20-3 run triggered by a Boezeman layup followed by a 3-pointer to build a lead that was never challenged.
Saint Katherine, which plays in the lower level Pacific Coast Athletic Conference, opened with an 11-4 run to take an early lead but couldn't hang on, shooting just 30 percent from the floor and getting outrebounded 53-21. It was the Firebirds' third loss in as many days.
D'Vaughn Mann led Saint Katherine with 13 points.
