UC Irvine rolls to 73-63 win over Cal State Northridge

NORTHRIDGE, Calif. (AP) Mamadou Ndiaye and Luke Nelson scored 14 points apiece as UC Irvine notched its seventh straight win, rolling to a 73-63 victory over Cal State Northridge on Wednesday night.

Ioannis Dimakopoulos added 13 points and Mike Best had 10 for the Anteaters (17-5, 6-0 Big West), who averaged 52 percent shooting from the field and 61 percent from the line.

The Matadors (7-14, 2-5) were held to 41 percent shooting, including just 1 of 12 from distance.

UC Irvine took a 17-15 lead on a layup by Dimakopoulos and the Anteaters had a 33-22 advantage at the break. They led throughout the second half. Best had a dunk to make it 60-38 with 7:54 to play.

Aaron Parks had 17 points and Tre Hale-Edmerson added 11 points, seven rebounds and four assists for the Matadors.
