Tunstall has first double-double; Towson routs Goucher 99-37
TOWSON, Md. (AP) Dennis Tunstall scored 16 points and grabbed 13 rebounds for his first career double-double and Towson routed Division III Goucher 99-37 on Wednesday night.
Tunstall was 7 of 7 from the floor and made 2 of 3 free throws. John Davis added 12 points for Towson (4-3), which shot 57 percent on 36-of-63 shooting as every player scored. Deshaun Morman and Zane Martin chipped in 11 points apiece.
The 62-point victory was the program's second highest. The Tigers beat Buffalo by 64 points, 122-58 in 1992. Yet it was not the fewest points allowed by Towson. The Tigers held Wilson Teachers College to 8 points in 1933.
Jesse Mondry led Goucher with 13 points on 5-of-9 shooting from the floor. The Gophers shot just 27 percent from the field and made 26 percent of their 3-point baskets on 6-of-23 shooting.
