Kevin Sims scored 22 points to lead Tulane over Texas-El Paso 86-77 on Saturday night. The Green Wave (13-15, 7-8 Conference USA) also received 15 points from Robinson Louisme, while Asim McQueen added 10 points and 11 rebounds. Tulane has won three games in a row. Tulane used a 10-1 run to take an early 15-6 lead with 11:35 left in the first half. The Green Wave on a 10-4 run later in the half, pushing their lead to 25-12 with 5:43 left. Tulane led 41-28 at the half, never giving up its advantage. UTEP (17-11, 8-6) was paced by Stefon Jackson, who finished with 23 points and five rebounds. Randy Culpepper added 22. Tulane shot 51 percent from the field (25-for-49), and outrebounded UTEP 37-35. The Miners shot 37.9 percent from the field (25-for-66).
