Transfer forward Gabe Levin leaves Marquette before ever suiting up
Gabe Levin's brief career at Marquette has ended before he played a minute for the Golden Eagles.
The sophomore forward who had transferred from Loyola Marymount over the summer is leaving Marquette. The 6-foot-7 Levin averaged 11.1 points and 7.1 rebounds for the Lions as a freshman last season.
Coach Steve Wojciechowski announced Levin's departure from Marquette on Wednesday. Marquette holds its basketball media day on Thursday.
Wojciechowski is entering his first year as a head coach after serving as an assistant coach at Duke.
Levin was due to redshirt at Marquette this year because of transfer rules. The Golden Eagles have only one player on the roster taller than 6-foot-7 -- 6-foot-11 center Luke Fischer. The transfer from Indiana isn't eligible to play until mid-December.
