Toth leads Cal Poly past Bethesda 69-52

SAN LUIS OBISPO, Calif. (AP) Kyle Toth sank five 3-pointers, grabbed seven rebounds and Cal Poly cruised to a 69-52 win over NCCAA member Bethesda on Saturday.

Toth finished with 17 points on 6-for-12 shooting, Donovan Fields added 15 points and Luke Meikle had 11 points with 10 rebounds for Cal Poly (2-2), which had 19 assists and won the rebounding battle 50-38.

Josh Mishler's 3-pointer early in the first half made it 15-14 and gave Cal Poly the lead for good. The Mustangs took a 31-26 advantage into the break and continued to pull ahead over the final 20 minutes.

Bethesda led 14-12 early in the first half after Buddha Boyd's jumper with 12:11 left but couldn't hang on.

CJ Johnson scored 16 points for Bethesda and Jarrell Tate had 10. Boyd finished with eight points and five rebounds.
