Toledo holds on to beat Miami (Ohio) 84-76

OXFORD, Ohio (AP) Nathan Boothe scored 25 points and grabbed 11 rebounds as Toledo held on to beat Miami (Ohio) 84-76 on Saturday.

Boothe finished with 10-of-19 shooting from the field for the Rockets (10-5, 1-1 Mid-American Conference). It was the fifth game this season in which he has scored 20 or more points. Jaelan Sanford and Jonathan Williams added 15 points apiece and Stuckey Mosley had 12.

Boothe led an 11-2 surge to open the second half that extended the Rockets 17-point halftime lead to 58-32 with 15:33 to play. The RedHawks (6-9, 0-2) surged 13-6 midway through the period to trail 71-55 and closed the gap to nine points, 80-71, with 41 seconds remaining.

Williams sank five 3-pointers in the first half to help Toledo to a 47-30 lead at the break.

Eric Washington scored 21 points with five assists and four rebounds for the RedHawks.
