Travele Jones grabbed a double-double, scoring 20 points and pulling down 11 rebounds, in Texas Southern's 78-64 win over Texas State on Thursday night.

Harrison Smith added 15 points, including a game-leading three 3-pointers, for the Tigers (2-7) while Keithtrick Denson scored 10.

Texas Southern led 37-21 at halftime and by as many as 23 points in the second period.

The Tigers shot 56.5 percent from the field while the Bobcats (2-6) managed just 35.5 percent.

Travis Jones led Texas State with 19 points and nine rebounds while Tony Bishop and A.J. Stewart added 10 points each.
