Texas A&M-CC outpaces Northwestern State, 88-76

CORPUS CHRISTI, Texas (AP) John Jordan scored 22 points on 6-of-11 shooting and 9 of 12 at the free throw line, and had 11 assists to lead Texas A&M-CC to an 88-76 victory over Northwestern State on Tuesday night.

Jordan moves just nine points shy of second place on the Islanders all-time scoring list, behind the 1,324 points of Michael Hicks.

Brandon Pye added 17 points and Rashawn Thomas finished with 15 points and 12 rebounds for the Islanders (9-8, 4-1 Southland Conference), who have won five of their last six games.

Both teams shot over 50 percent from the field and got to the free throw line at least 30 times. But Texas A&M-CC won the battle from behind the arc, hitting 10 3-pointers while holding the Demons to five.

Zeek Woodley scored 24 points to lead Northwestern State (8-9, 3-3).

The Islanders led 52-38 at halftime.
