Tennessee Tech pulls away from Murray State 71-65

MURRAY, Ky. (AP) Torrance Rowe hit all 15 of his shots from the foul line and finished with 25 points to lift Tennessee Tech to a 71-65 win over Murray State on Thursday night.

Ryan Martin added 20 points and 11 rebounds for Tennessee Tech (11-5, 3-0 Ohio Valley), which hit 42 percent of its 41 shots from the field and was 34 of 39 from the line.

The Golden Eagles edged into the lead for good midway through the second half on a bucket from Martin that made it 44-43. Martin later capped a 9-0 run with a 3-point play in the final minutes to pad the advantage. It gave the Golden Eagles their best start since the 2005-06 season.

Jeffery Moss led Murray State (7-8, 1-1) with 20 points, including six 3-pointers. Bryce Jones added 13 points and Wayne Langston had 11 for the Racers, who were held to 28 percent shooting.
