Rahlir Hollis-Jefferson scored a career-high 20 points to lead Temple to a 72-61 victory over Towson Wednesday night.

The Owls (7-1), who were 6-0 before a 90-67 loss to Duke Saturday, recovered at Towson's expense. Temple led by 11 points before taking a 32-26 halftime lead. Hollis-Jefferson scored 10 of his points in that first half.

Towson (4-6) got a superb performance from Jerrelle Benimon, who posted a 30-point, 18-rebound double-double on 14-for-22 shooting. He scored 15 points in the first half, but was 0 for 7 on 3-point attempts. Benimon added 15 more points in the second half.

Hollis-Jefferson had six rebounds, six assists and three steals. Temple's Scootie Randall had a double-double with 13 points and 12 rebounds.

Marcus Damas (11 points) was the only other Towson player in double figures. While Temple was 4 for 17 on 3-pointers, Towson shot just 1 for 14.
