Adam Pegg scored 15 points and Stetson overcame 26 turnovers to defeat Florida A&M 78-60 on Monday night, giving the Hatters their first 2-0 start in 59 years.

Stetson, which opened the 1952-53 season with three straight wins, also won its first nonconference road game since beating Wake Forest 89-79 to start last season.

The Hatters, who turned the ball over 29 times in a 65-60 victory over Bethune-Cookman on Friday, made up for their poor ball handling Monday by dominating the Rattlers on the boards 54-31.

Stetson led 35-27 at halftime and opened up a 15-point lead with 13:48 left.

After Florida A&M got within 10 at 48-38, the Hatters went on a 6-0 run and led by as many as 25 following 3-pointers by Pegg and Chris Perez.

Joel Naburgs had a career-high 11 rebounds for Stetson.

Yannick Crowder led the Rattlers (0-2) with 13 points.
