St. Bonaventure 56, Cornell 54
Demitrius Conger scored 22 points and grabbed 14 rebounds, Andrew Nicholson had a double-double and St. Bonaventure used a late surge to edge Cornell 56-54 on Friday night.
Nicholson finished with 19 points and 10 rebounds for the Bonnies (2-1), who trailed 51-47 with 2:30 left after Cornell's Drew Ferry scored. But that was the last time the Big Red (2-2) would lead as St. Bonaventure pulled ahead for good on a 3-pointer by Conger.
Michael Davenport, who scored nine points and had eight rebounds, scored the next three points on free throws for the Bonnies, who held Cornell to one field goal the rest of the way. Davenport also had four steals.
Chris Wroblewski led the Big Red with 25 points, shooting 6 for 9 from beyond the arc. He also had five assists, four steals and six turnovers. Max Groebe also had 16 points.
