Gary Flowers scored 21 points to boost Southern Mississippi to an 86-61 victory over Cal State Monterey Bay on Saturday.
The Golden Eagles (6-1) led the whole way, pulling out to a 46-38 lead by halftime and holding onto a 25-point advantage, their largest of the game, for most of the final 2 1/2 minutes.
Josimar Ayarza chipped in with 18 points for the Golden Eagles.
Davion Berry led the Otters (4-3) with 17 points, including a game-high four 3-pointers. James Thomas Jr. added 12 points.

The Golden Eagles shot 46 percent from the floor while the Otters shot just 38 percent. Southern Miss also dominated on rebounds 42-25.
