Dominique Jones scored 20 points as South Florida beat Rutgers 73-64 on Saturday night.

Mike Mercer and Jarrid Famous each added 13 points for South Florida (11-6, 1-4 Big East), which ended a four-game losing streak.

Rutgers (9-8, 0-5) got 13 points from Hamady Ndiaye, Jonathan Mitchell, Mike Rosario and Mike Coburn. The Scarlet Knights have lost six in a row.

Rosario limped off the court with 14:21 left in the second half, but returned just under three minutes later. Rosario, who entered averaging 16.2 points, scored all 13 of his points after halftime.

Anthony Crater hit a 3 to put South Florida ahead 51-38 midway through the second half.

Rutgers pulled within eight points with 8 minutes remaining on a three-point play by Ndiaye. Jones had a basket and an assist as South Florida scored the next six points for a 59-45 advantage.
