South Dakota State edges North Dakota 74-72

BROOKINGS, S.D. (AP) Jake Bittle converted a three-point play with five seconds left and South Dakota State held on to beat North Dakota 74-72 on Friday night.

Bittle was fouled on the shot, and made the ensuing free throw to give the Jackrabbits a 3-point lead. Anders Broman immediately fouled North Dakota's Estan Tyler, who made one of two free throws. South Dakota State grabbed the rebound with 4 seconds left and ran out the clock.

North Dakota led 64-54 with 4:57 to play. The Jackrabbits answered with an 11-1 run, capped by Bittle's 3-pointer, to tie it at 65 with 2:48 remaining.

Deondre Parks scored 19 points on 7-of-10 shooting. Cody Larson had 15 points and Bittle finished with 12 to lead South Dakota State (1-2).

Jaron Nash scored 18 points, Estan Tyler had 17 and Chad Calcaterra chipped in 13 for North Dakota (1-2).
