South Dakota has strong 2nd half, beats Sac. State 72-56

VERMILLION, S.D. (AP) Tyler Flack hit 8 of 12 from the floor for 20 points and grabbed nine rebounds as South Dakota pulled away in the second half to overwhelm Sacramento State 72-56 on Saturday.

Trey Dickerson finished with 13 points and Trey Burch-Manning pulled down 12 rebounds while adding six points. Tyler Peterson chipped in 10 for South Dakota (8-4).

The Coyotes held a slim 35-32 advantage at the break but blew it open in the second half. Peterson nailed a 3-pointer to start the period and set South Dakota off on a 15-0 run. Sacramento State (2-7), which has lost five of its last six, never got close again.

The Hornets were up 32-26 with 4:00 to go in the first period but the Coyotes closed that half with a 9-0 run to take the lead for good.

Eric Stuteville had 13 points and nine rebounds for the Hornets.
