LaShun Watson hit a 3-pointer at the buzzer to lift South Alabama to a 66-65 victory over Florida International on Thursday night. Watson's shot helped the Jaguars (14-11, 7-7 Sun Belt Conference) overcome Alex Galindo's 3-pointer that gave the Panthers (10-17, 5-9) a 65-63 lead with 13 seconds left. South Alabama led 60-50 with 5:34 remaining, but Galindo, who finished with a school-record eight 3-pointers, hit one to cut the lead to 60-53 with 5:01 left. Josue Soto's layup cut South Alabama's margin to 63-62 with 1:07 remaining. Watson missed a shot and Galindo gave the Panthers the lead. Watson finished with 17 points, Brandon Davis had 14 points and 11 rebounds and Ronald Douglas added 10 points for the Jaguars, who hit 14 3-pointers. Galindo scored 26 points, Russell Hicks added 15 and Tremayne Russell scored 12 for the Panthers.
