Singletary helps Albany beat Yale 64-60

NEW HAVEN, Conn. (AP) Evan Singletary scored 19 points, including five of the Great Danes' final six, to help Albany beat Yale 64-60 on Saturday.

Singletary's 3-pointer gave Albany (4-6) a 61-58 lead with two minutes left. His two free throws with 17 seconds remaining made it 63-60. Yale's Javier Duren missed a pair of free throws with 6.5 seconds left before Ray Sanders made 1 of 2 from the line to secure the victory.

Trailing by one at halftime, Yale (9-4) grabbed an eight-point lead with 13:41 to go and held the advantage until Peter Hooley scored nine straight points for Albany to tie the game at 56 with 3:59 remaining. The teams both made a pair of free throws before Singletary's 3-pointer.

Sam Rowley added 15 points for his seventh straight double-figures game for Albany. Hooley finished with 13.

Justin Sears scored 14 points and Duren 11 for the Bulldogs.
