Seton Hall 75, South Florida 60
Jeremy Hazell scored 20 points to lead Seton Hall to a 75-60 victory over South Florida Wednesday night. The victory enabled the Pirates (15-12, 6-9 Big East) to stay in contention for a postseason tournament berth. They have three regular season games remaining before the Big East Tournament. Robert Mitchell added 17 points for the Pirates. Seton Hall also received 15 points from Eugene Harvey, who rebounded nicely after going scoreless for the first time in his career in a loss Sunday to St. John's. Dominique Jones and Augustus Gilchrist paced South Florida (8-19, 3-12) with 20 points each. Alex Rivas added 18. The Pirates broke open a close game in the early stages of the second half. After taking a 32-30 lead into halftime, Seton Hall outscored the Bulls 16-4 over the first four minutes of the second half to take a commanding 48-34 lead. Mitchell scored eight in that stretch while Hazell hit two long 3-pointers. The victory snapped a three-game losing streak for the Pirates, who have now defeated South Florida in all six games in the series.
