Seattle soars past Texas-Pan American 83-62

SEATTLE (AP) Isiah Umipig scored 21 points and Seattle University never trailed in beating Texas-Pan American 83-62 on Thursday night.

D'Vonne Pickett, Jr. added 15 points and Shore Adenekan contributed 14 while grabbing 11 rebounds for Seattle.

Seattle (11-10, 3-5 Western Athletic Conference) led 42-32 at the break after jumping out to an 11-2 lead and later expanding its advantage to 19 points on a Clarence Trent jumper to go up 36-17 before settling for the 10-point lead at intermission.

Pickett put Seattle ahead by 21 in the second half, matching the final margin of victory, on a layup with 8:42 to play. Texas- Pan American (6-18, 2-7) resorted to fouling the Redhawks in an attempt to narrow the gap but made no headway by the buzzer.

Shaquille Boga led the Broncs with 16 points and Shaquille Hines scored 15. The Broncs shot 35 percent from the field.
