Brandon Fortenberry scored 20 points, including three during Southeastern Louisiana's go-ahead run in overtime, to lead the Lions to a 72-69 win over Louisiana Tech on Wednesday night.

It's the Lions first win in the series in 16 tries, with the last coming in 1996, also in Hammond.

The Lions (4-2) broke a 64-all tie in overtime with five straight points, capped by a jumper and free throw by Fortenberry with 26 seconds left.

Louisiana Tech (2-4), which trailed 30-25 at halftime, was down 58-55 with 3:09 left in regulation. JL Lewis hit a 3-pointer and the Bulldogs made two free throws to tie it at 59 with 1 second remaining.

Louisiana Tech was 2 of 4 from the line in the final 1:45 of regulation, including a miss on DeShawn Patterson's second free throw with 1 second left.

Lewis led the Bulldogs with 20 points and 11 rebounds.
