SC-Upstate pulls away from Kennesaw State 65-48

SPARTANBURG, S.C. (AP) Ricardo Glenn had 19 points and 12 rebounds and Torrey Craig had 16 points and 11 rebounds as South Carolina-Upstate beat Kennesaw State 65-48 on Friday night.

Jodd Maxey added 12 points for the Spartans (12-10, 5-4 Atlantic Sun) which held Kennesaw State to 30.9 percent shooting from the field and 1 of 14 from 3-point range.

Willy Kouassi led the way with 15 points and 11 rebounds and Myles Hamilton chipped in 10 points for the Owls (4-19, 1-9) which led SC-Upstate 28-26 at halftime.

The teams tied at 29, 31, 33, 35 and 39 before SC-Upstate began to pull away. The Spartans used a 14-2 run capped by Maxey's free throws with 5:32 left to take a 52-41 lead.

The Spartans continued to build their margin until taking their biggest lead on the game's final points - a Glenn dunk with 25 seconds left.
