Adrian Rodgers scored 22 points and South Carolina-Upstate dominated tiny Piedmont College inside in a 91-66 rout Monday night.
Rodgers was one of four Spartans in double figures as South Carolina-Upstate evened its record at 1-1. Piedmont, an NAIA team in Georgia, played the game as an exhibition and remains 0-0.
After losing its season opener at Arkansas 83-63, South Carolina-Upstate had a far easier night this time. It led 49-31 at halftime, and outrebounded Piedmont 47-25. The Spartans had a huge advantage inside, outscoring Piedmont 50-14 on points in the paint. They shot 52.2 percent (36 for 69) from the field.
Rodgers got help from teammate Torrey Craig, who scored 16 points. Ty Green and Ricardo Glenn also scored in double figures with 13 and 10 points, respectively.
Kevin Kubandi led Piedmont with 14 points and Dylan Delaney added 10.
