Ty Greene scored 21 points to lead South Carolina Upstate to a 79-63 victory over Stetson Saturday in Atlantic Sun action.

The Spartans (7-5, 1-0), trailing 35-32 at halftime, outscored Stetson (4-5, 1-1) 47-28 in the second half. South Carolina Upstate won just five games last season, including a 72-59 victory over Stetson.

Greene was 7 for 13 from the floor, hitting 4 of 5 3-pointers. Ricardo Glenn recorded a double-double with 12 points and 14 rebounds. Torrey Craig added 13 points but was just 1 for 8 on 3-pointers. But the Spartans hit 45 percent from the floor (27 of 60), were 8 of 18 on 3-pointers and 17 of 21 on free throws.

Stetson led by 12 points in the first half but crumbled in the second. Chris Perez scored 12 points while three Hatters - Adam Pegg, Joel Naburgs and Aaron Graham - had 10 apiece.
