Savannah State made 6 of 10 free throws in overtime to preserve a 73-70 win over Jacksonville on Wednesday night.

Rashad Hassan hit a layup to tie the game 67-67 with 2:38 to play in overtime for the Tigers, who got the rest of their points at the foul line.

Hassan scored 14 points for Savannah State (1-2), which snapped a five-game losing streak in the series. It was only the second win in 17 games against Jacksonville.

Preston Blackmon added 11 points, while Jyles Smith and Joshua Montgomery each scored 10 for the Tigers.

Savannah State led by as many as eight points in the second half, but needed a jumper by Arnold Louis with 1 second remaining in regulation to send the game into overtime.

Aloys Cabell scored 22 points, Delwan Graham added 17 and Russell Powell had 11 for the Dolphins (0-2).
