San Jose State cruises against Air Force, 75-54

SAN JOSE, Calif. (AP) Jaycee Hillsman scored 13 points and dished out five assists to help San Jose State beat Air Force 75-54 on Saturday.

Brandon Clarke finished with 12 points and eight boards, and Cody Schwartz and Jalen James each added 11 points for the Spartans (7-15, 2-8 Mountain West), who snapped a four-game losing streak and a five-game skid to Air Force.

The Spartans clamped down on the Falcons defensively, holding Air Force to just 16 total field goals and 28.6 percent shooting.

The Spartans opened on an 18-3 run and led 39-24 at halftime. A Clarke layup with 13:01 left extended the lead to 20. Frank Toohey hit a 3-pointer for Air Force (10-12, 1-8) which cut its deficit to 61-47, but the Falcons never got within 14 the rest of the way.

Toohey scored 17 to lead Air Force, which has lost eight in a row.
