Kaylin Johnson scored 20 points and Samford controlled overtime for a 70-61 victory over Georgia State on Saturday night.
The Bulldogs (4-3) scored the first seven points of overtime and took a 68-58 lead on Johnson's two free throws with 48 seconds left.
The Panthers shot 8.3 percent from the field (1 for 12) in OT.
Johnson was 6 for 8 from the field, including three 3-pointers, and 5 of 7 from the free throw line.
Georgia State led 52-45 with 1:10 to play, but Samford's Andy King hit a game-tying 3-pointer with 9 seconds left and the Panthers (2-2) had a game-tying basket waved off with 3 seconds left because of a foul.
Gregg Wooten scored 13 points and Josh Bedwell added 12 points for Samford.
The Bulldogs were 23 of 30 from the foul line (76.7 percent) and Georgia State was 9 of 17 (52.9 percent).
Javonte Maynor led Georgia State with 12 points.
