Saint Peter's rallies past Wagner 51-50
Ryan Bacon made a dunk and a free throw in the final 2 minutes to lift Saint Peter's to a 51-50 win over Wagner on Saturday night.
Bacon's dunk tied the game at 50-50 with 1:56 remaining, then he hit 1 of 2 free throws with less than a minute left to give the Peacocks the win. Wagner missed a free throw and three field goals in the final minute.
Saint Peter's trailed 43-29 with 11:16 to play and outscored Wagner 22-7 the rest of the way. Nick Leon scored 14 points, Wesley Jenkins added 12 and Bacon had 10 for the Peacocks (5-4), who have won three games in a row and five of six.
Wagner (4-5) made only 63.6 (14 of 22) from the foul line after entering the game as the nation's best free throw shooting team at 80.7 percent.
Orlando Parker had 15 points and Tyler Murray added 11 for the Seahawks. Eight of their nine games have been decided by nine points or less.
