Saint Louis halts 4-game skid, beats Duquesne 78-69

ST. LOUIS (AP) Ash Yacoubou scored 18 points and grabbed 10 rebounds, leading five players into double-figure scoring as Saint Louis halted a four-game skid, defeating Duquesne 78-69 on Wednesday night.

Saint Louis (9-8) also received 14 points from Mike Crawford, 13 from Marcus Bartley, 11 from Milik Yarbrough and 10 from Davell Robey. Overall, the Billikens hit 25 of 55 shots with 11 3-pointers and sank 17 of 25 from the line. Saint Louis had 22 assists to 12 for Duquesne (6-9).

Duquesne opened the second half on an 11-4 spurt, cutting the Billikens' 13-point lead to 46-40 in less than three minutes. Micah Mason scored 12 to lead the Dukes.

The game fell on the 100th anniversary of the first recorded Billikens basketball contest, a 72-2 triumph over ''Company E.'' To mark the occasion Saint Louis unveiled an All-Century Team.
