Robert Morris edges Monmouth 60-57

Karon Abraham scored 18 points and Robert Morris defeated Monmouth 60-57 on Saturday night for its third consecutive win.

Monmouth blew a 10-point lead in the first half. The game was tied five times in the final 20 minutes as neither team led by more than six points.

Tied 52-52 with 2:14 to play, the Colonials scored six straight points to lead 58-52 after two free throws by Russell Johnson with 1:19 to go. The Colonials went 6 for 6 from the free-throw line in the final 32 seconds to seal the win.

Abraham, who was 5 of 11 from 3-point range, is 24 of 42 from that distance in the past five games. Velton Jones added 10 points for the Colonials (8-9, 4-2 Northeast Conference), who have won nine of the past 11 games in the series.

Jesse Steele came off the bench to score 21 points and Marcus Ware added 10 for Monmouth (5-13, 1-5), which lost its fourth game in a row.
