Brandon Penn notched a double-double, scoring 26 points and grabbing 15 rebounds, to lead Rider over Monmouth (N.J.) 74-62 on Thursday night for the Broncs' first two-game winning streak of the season.

Daniel Stewart added 17 points for the Broncs (3-10), who had lost six straight games before this current victorious streak. Penn knocked down 6 of 10 3-pointers.

Rider outshot Monmouth from the floor 51.1 percent (24 of 47) to 40 percent (26 of 65), including 38.5 percent (10 of 26) to 25 percent (4 of 16) from 3-point range in the win.

The Broncs led 31-25 at the break and outscored the Hawks 43-37 to seal it in the second half. They scored 19 points off 13 Hawks turnovers, although they turned the ball over 18 times themselves.

Ed Waite had a double-double of his own to pace the Hawks (2-10), scoring 15 points and tallying 11 rebounds.
