Reserve Omar Oraby scored 17 points, all in the second half, and Rice rolled past Maryland-Eastern Shore 81-49 on Sunday.

Oraby, who played just eight minutes for the Owls (3-0), was 5 for 7 from the field and 7 for 8 from the free-throw line. Rice led 38-23 at halftime and made 53 percent of its shots in the game.

Arsalan Kazemi had 11 points and eight rebounds, and Connor Frizzelle scored 11 for Rice. Lucas Kuipers added 10 points for the Owls.

Louis Bell and Percy Woods scored 16 points apiece for the Hawks (1-3), who made 45 percent of their 3-point tries (9 for 20) but were just 20 percent inside the arc. They finished the game at 30 percent overall.
