Ransom, Sam Houston St beat Southwest 111-51

HUNTSVILLE, Texas (AP) Kaheem Ransom scored 10 point, nine assists, six rebounds and three steals, and six Sam Houston State players scored in double figures as the Bearkats beat NAIA University of the Southwest 111-51 on Saturday night.

Paul Baxter scored 15, Jesse Lopez and Jamal Williams added 14 apiece, Jabari Peters had 13 points and Dakarai Henderson scored 11 for Sam Houston State (4-2), which cracked the 100-point plateau for the second time this season.

A pair of free throws by Darius Revels pulled Southwest within one, 5-4, about 3 1/2 minutes in, but Sam Houston State scored 21 of the next 24 points to take control of the game.

Southwest made just 14 of 57 (24.6 percent) field goals, including 3 of 17 (17.6 percent) from 3-point range and committed 22 turnovers.

Reginald Sonnier scored 13 and grabbed nine rebounds and Andres Gomes added 11 points for Southwest.
