James Johnson scored 16 of his 25 points in the second half to lead Quinnipiac past Yale 68-62 on Tuesday night.

With the game tied at 43 with 13:20 to play, the Bobcats (1-1) scored eight unanswered points in a little over four minutes. Johnson, who hit a 3-pointer during the spurt, capped it on a jumper as Quinnipiac pulled away 51-43 with 9:22 left.

The Bulldogs led 32-31 at halftime but shot just 7 of 31 from the field after the break (22.6 percent) and couldn't contain Johnson.

Quinnipiac outrebounded the Bulldogs 54-41 with Ike Azotam grabbing 18 and Alex Jackson 10. Azotam also had 17 points as the Bobcats won for the fourth straight time in the meeting of the two schools just 15 miles apart.

Reggie Willhite led the Bulldogs (1-1) with 18 points, Austin Morgan chipped in 13 and Jeremiah Kreisberg had 10.
