Prewitt scores 28 as Tribe beats Northeastern 86-77

BOSTON (AP) Omar Prewitt scored a season-high 28 points, Daniel Dixon added 20 and William & Mary made free throws when it counted to defeat Northeastern 86-77 on Thursday night, winning its third-straight game.

Prewitt made 12 of 18 field goals and he and Dixon each converted two free throws in the closing seconds for William & Mary (16-6, 8-3 Colonial Athletic). The Tribe made 8 of 10 free throws in the last 1:10 to fend off Northeastern.

Prewitt scored two baskets as the Tribe erased a six-point halftime gap, catching up at 45-45. Two Daniels free throws gave the Tribe a 72-62 lead with 4:14 to go.

Jeremy Miller led Northeastern (12-12, 4-7) with a career-high 23 points, David Walker added 19 with each hitting four of the Huskies' 12 3-pointers in 27 attempts.
